Meet the Rangers
A major achievement kicked off BID activity in the Town, when Town Centre Rangers were recruited to become the “eyes and ears” of the BID Company out on the streets, starting work in June.
The Rangers provide a total of 120 hours street coverage every week, with a scheduled mix of individual ‘beats’ to patrol, joint coverage and beat swapping. This is actually more than promised in the BID’s prospectus. Each Ranger also supports specific strands of the BID plan – safety and security, clean & gleam .. and marketing/promotion/events. Equipped with the latest software on portable data terminals, they’ve become an invaluable resource; reporting on the physical state of the town and logging any security incidents.
